As today commences the 40 day season of lent leading to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I am challenged to consider my own mortality and desperate need for forgiveness from the gunk in my soul.
Reflections from Psalm 51
I am…
A sinner.
Stained.
Guilty.
Rebellious.
Haunted.
Evil.
Broken.
Disobedient.
God is…
Merciful.
Loving.
Compassionate.
Clean.
Right.
Just.
A Teacher of Wisdom.
Purifier.
White.
Giver of Joy.
My Salvation.
And yet, Lord, you do not desire a burnt offering from me. You have taken all my sin upon yourself to be my offering by going to the cross, by your shed blood. The only sacrifice you desire is a broken and repentant heart. (v. 16-17)
O God, please create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. (v. 10)
I liked your Ash Wednesday comments…Ash Wednesday is a bit foreign to me, but I liked what you wrote…The Lord bless you, Christina, and your family…
That is beautiful, Christina! What a true reminder of just how sinful, wretched, and immperfect we are…yet to be so blessed to be bathed in complete grace and forgiveness paid by the death of His Son on the cross! Oh, Lord….help us to be accutely aware of this true gift You have bestowed upon us, the unworthy sinner, each and every day!
How beautiful….just like YOU. Thank you for the humble reminder of how much the Lord loves us and forgives us.John 3:16
Love and hugs~

Oh Christian, this was so powerful!!! It humbles me even more before our maker. Having Christ in your name is so fitting I think. You are a true and faithful servant!
