Jessie still does nap time. Most of the time she sleeps for a couple hours, but if she doesn’t feel like sleeping, she can choose to play alone for the duration of her nap. However, she is not allowed to get out of bed. So although she usually has a couple toys to enjoy, she oftentimes must find creative ways to occupy herself.
Yesterday, I could hear her at my parents’ home playing during naptime, obviously choosing to forgo her much needed rest. So when naptime was finally over, I walked into the room and discovered this:
And with the greatest grin, Jessie declared, “I’m a bride!”
She proceeded to explain to me how her yellow blanket was the skirt of her dress and the leggings she had been wearing were now nicely tied on her head to become a veil.
She beamed from ear to ear like every bride…
And I beamed from ear to ear like every proud parent.
Bless her little cotton socks !!!

Jessie is joy!
Precious, adorable, imaginative (always thinking!), creative, and the list goes on…..
What a beautiful bride, you are, Jessie Girl!
xxooxx,
Grandma
How cute (and clever!). She is clearly having a fun time!
We do the same thing with Elijah… we call it "quiet time"… but he can either nap or quietly play so long as he stays in bed. We also give him a magazine holder filled with books/kids’ magazines for him to browse.
Jessie must have a great imagination!
